Classic Nofty won the September 23 allowance at Presque Isle Downs, getting up in the final strides to beat Outsider by a head at a mile and seventy yards on the all weather, and Equibase assigned the race a 92, a career top.
Under Antonio Gallardo he broke fourth of six, stalked from the inside and saved ground through the far turn while Freestate set fractions of :24.40, :48.41 and 1:12.31. He angled out four wide in mid-stretch and ran down Outsider, who had led into the lane. Triple Start closed fast five wide for third a neck away, Freestate fourth. The 2.20 favorite stopped the clock in 1:40.24 and paid $6.40.
The Phil Schoenthal trainee is now 3-0-1 from eight starts with $114,490 earned, and the 92 is one point clear of the 91 he ran when fourth in the Grade 3 Penn Mile. It was his first start out of stakes company since May, after the Penn Mile, the Kent Stakes and the Crowd Pleaser. He has now won twice over the Presque Isle all weather, having broken his maiden there in 2025. An HnR homebred foaled in Pennsylvania in 2023, he is by Classic Empire out of the Silver Train mare Move.
