The Mare

Seventeen Starts,
One Trainer, One Silks

Envied is by American Pharoah, the 2015 Triple Crown winner and Horse of the Year, out of the stakes-placed Halljoy (IRE). Trained by Ben Colebrook, she ran all seventeen of her starts over three seasons in HnR silks, and hit the board in over half of them, retiring with a 1-3-5 record worth $83,589.

She broke her maiden in her third career start, a neck up over Swanage in a mile turf race at Ellis Park on July 5, 2019. Two starts later she ran third in the Happy Ticket Stakes, a black-type race at Louisiana Downs, and the month after that she tried graded company, finishing 13th in the JPMorgan Chase Jessamine Stakes (G2) at Keeneland.

Her career-best Equibase figure, a 96, came at Colonial Downs on August 23, 2021, her sixteenth start: she raced off the pace, rallied five to six wide through the lane, and got up for third. Two months earlier, at the same track, she led late in the M. Tyson Gilpin Stakes before getting run down by 24.20-1 shot Puppymonkeybaby, beaten a neck.
