Palazzi, a 6 year old gelding, trained by Mark Casse and owned by Gary Barber, beat a strong field to win the Eclipse Grade 2 stakes on the synthetic @WoodbineRaceTrack on June 1, 2024. This is Palazzi’s second graded stakes win, having won the Singspiel Grade 3 at Woodbine last year on the turf.
This is Palazzi’s 6th win in 29 starts, bringing his career earnings to $582,000. Palazzi also won the Texas Turf Stakes for a total of three stakes wins. Palazzi is by Pioneer of the Nile o/o HnR Nothhaft Horseracing LLC mare Kindle. Palazzi is half brother to stakes winner Made in America (KY), Allah Maak most expesnsive American Pharoah yearling sold for $2.2M to Godolphin; Winner American Symphone by Into Mischief, A Day to Remember by American Pharoah, Fire yearling filly by Authentic and unnamed Justify weanling colt.
Given the requirements to run three times in Canada to be eligiblefor the Soverign Award, we believe Palazzi is i a good position to win the award in 20204 having narroly missing in 2023.
